Training for professionals
The Experience in Mind training for professionals has been developed by members of the project with the aim of involving young people in the delivery of mental health training to professionals and services who work with young people. The training includes material on three key topics originally identified by the young people on the project: communication, self harm, and stress and depression. The training can cover all these topics or a selection from each module. Training sessions can be structured to run from as little as a couple of hours to one or two days. The information and exercises have been tailored to suit a range of professionals who may want to understand more about a young person’s mental well being. Professionals who would benefit include teachers, psychiatrists, GPs and surgery staff, police personnel, youth and drugs workers, A&E staff and anyone who supports young people or may meet them in the course of their work.
